International Conference ON Latest Trends in Domestic and Wild Animal Genomics and Biotechnology Published On:    Tuesday, October 25, 2016 The Department of Molecular Biology at Virtual University of Pakistan in collaboration with Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is hosting two days “ International Conference on   Latest Trends in Domestic and Wild Animal Genomics and Biotechnology”  on  November 21-22, 2016  at M.A Jinnah Campus, Defence Road, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore. The conference will bring together national and international leading researchers and scientists to highlight the modern trends in animal genomics and biotechnology research and their potential applications. The goal is to provide a forum for students, field workers and researchers to present their recent advances and research results falling under the conference focused topics/areas. Issuance of First voucher to Continuing students (Fall,2016) Published On:    Thursday, October 13, 2016 Students are informed that the University has issued first voucher (semester enrolment fee + one course fee) for Fall, 2016 to continuing students with due date  October 21, 2016 .

Virtual University SIGNS MoU With UET, Taxila Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila for research, development, innovation and joint education. Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan and Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Vice Chancellor UET, Taxila signed the MoU in a ceremony on June 22, 2016 held at M.A Jinnah Campus, Lahore. Both institutions agreed to exchange relevant technical information and provide support in the field of education. Virtual University will also offer its Virtual Information system (VIS) for management of academic programs & exam activities, employee database and complete campus portal management to UET, Taxila. On this occasion, Dr.Naveed A Malik, Rector VUP, said that the Virtual University has always been working on judicious and economic use of resources in the greater national interest in the country through innovative use of technology.

PM Laptop Distribution Ceremony 2016 Virtual University of Pakistan held two ceremonies on 28 th  and 29 th  September, 2016 at M.A Jinnah Campus to award Laptops to high achievers under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.  Dr. Naveed A Malik, Rector and Dr. Muhammad Nawaz, Advisor, Virtual University of Pakistan were the Chief Guests for the ceremonies. Dr. Malik emphasizing the significance of laptop scheme to the audience said that the use of computers will go a long way in acquiring the knowledge amongst the youth promoting research culture in the country. He thanked Ms. Anusha Rahman, Minister of IT and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC for their support and help in the allocation of laptops for the student community of Virtual University of Pakistan. A total of 510 out of allocation of  2500  laptops are to be bestowed to the students enrolled in  MS/M.Phil.  programs. Published On:    Tuesday, October 4, 2016 Announcement for Course Selection Fall 2016 Semester (Semester/ Classes Commencement Date: Monday, 24th October, 2016) The link for “Course Selection” will be active/ available w.e.f.  Tuesday, 4 th  October, 2016  under “Student Services” tab in VULMS. The students are advised to log-in to their VULMS account and select their course(s) immediately or before the semester commencement date .   However, last date to  add/drop course(s)  will be  Thursday, 3 rd  November, 2016.
