An intra-university debate competition was held by the Virtual University Debating Society.

 


On October 22 and 23, 2024, the Virtual University of Pakistan's Debating Society successfully held a two-day intra-university debate competition. More than 100 students from different regions, including those from abroad, participated in the virtual event, which featured a remarkable exhibition of intellectual discourse and debate.

Four discussion categories were offered in the competition to accommodate varying levels of skill. Engaging in vibrant conversations, students from various academic backgrounds and geographical locations demonstrated the university's diversity of potential.

Judges On the first day, Ms. Nabiha Khan from the University of the Punjab and Mr. Abdullah Sultan Arbi from GCU Lahore evaluated participants on a variety of criteria, including their capacity for clear communication, argumentation, and presentation. On the second day, Mr. Umer Sohaib from the University of the Punjab and Mr. Waqas Ahmed from GCU Lahore served on the judging panel, and they adhered to the stringent evaluation standards.

The committed faculty members from Virtual University who made up the panel provided further support for the occasion. Ms. Afsheen Hassan was the Convener, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah was the Co-Convener, and Mr. Tanveer Shah was the Coordinator. Their direction and assistance were crucial in setting up a smooth and significant competition, advancing the Debating Society's goal of encouraging critical thinking and lively debate.
