The Virtual University of Pakistan's
dedicated faculty and staff came together on Kashmir Black Day to express
solidarity with the Kashmiri people. At the Lawrence Road Office in Lahore,
participants in a peaceful march held posters and banners demanding Kashmir's
independence, all united by the powerful slogan, "Make Kashmir Free."
This demonstration showed how committed the Virtual University community is to
supporting Kashmir's struggle and the notion of a fair and peaceful future for its
people.
Students and staff were invited to write
sincere sentiments of solidarity, peace, and support for the people of Kashmir
on a "Wall of Solidarity." Along with artwork created by Kashmiri
artists, students and faculty members also donated images and artwork that
highlighted the region's natural beauty and the tenacity of its people. The
university's steadfast support is visually demonstrated by this wall, which
reflects a common goal of peace and freedom for Kashmir.
Additionally, Dr. Ruqia Kalsoom, an assistant
professor in the Department of Pakistan Studies, gave a thought-provoking talk
on the importance of solidarity with Kashmir during a seminar hosted at the
Lawrence Road Office. Dr. Kalsoom highlighted the part Pakistanis play in
promoting the independence of Kashmir and provided practical means of aiding
this cause. As the initiative's main point, Dr. Ambreen Anjum was instrumental
in spearheading campaigns to promote awareness and unity among university
students.
The Virtual University of Pakistan's
commemoration of Kashmir Black Day highlights a potent message of optimism,
fortitude, and solidarity, demonstrating the organization's commitment to
assisting the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
